Strathleven Drumochter, Ridden Highland Stallion Reserve Supreme Ridden Highland at the Royal Highland Show, 2011, rider Caroline Wilson, Producer Bev Neal, Owners Paul & Stacey Walsh, Valerock Stud.

24th June 2011 - Royal Highland Show - A dream come true for me, having been asked to show Strathleven Drumochter in the Ridden Highland class at the RHS in March by his owners Stacey and Paul Walsh, as his regular rider and producer Bev Neal was showing elsewhere.  Those people who thought I was mad or brave to show a pony I had never ridden, let alone a stallion, in a big class were proven wrong and shows you what an amazing stallion Drum is!  We not only won the class but went on to be Reserve Supreme Ridden Champions!!!  It was an honour to ride such a quality stallion - much praise to his producer Bev Neal and his owners Paul and Stacey Walsh.  Keep an eye out for Drum - he is a complete superstar!

It is with great sadness that Fouroaks Calvin Klein passed away today in his stable.

Boxer meant the world to us especially after surviving Grass Sickness in 2007.

I will never forget his absolute positive attitude to life having suffered and surviving Grass Sickness, not once did this pony ever feel sorry for himself and he was a great inspiration to me that even when the chips were down there was always something bright to look forward too.

The storms of today meant I was not at the stud at my usual time and I found him lying at the front of his box, something he would never do, he loved to lie up the back tucked into the straw bed, but would always be there standing at the door awaiting my arrival, I know he awaited me today longing for me to be there with him in his final moments, this sadly was not to be and has devistated me.  I am so angry that the weather was so bad the road was closed until later and then barely passible with a walk at the end of it, prolonging my time to get to him.  I am sorry Boxer that I couldn't make it in time.  One of the many reasons for pushing to get planning to live on site!

GRASS SICKNESS and the outcome for survivors - we need to find a cause and a cure so no other pony or horse has to go through what my wee Boxer did.

I am heartbroken.

Rest in Peace Boxer, sleep tight x x x

FOUROAKS CALVIN KLEIN 12-02-02  -  31-03-10

The aim of the Stud is to produce quality Welsh Section C (Pony of Cob Type) and D's (Welsh Cobs) which can perform well in the Show Ring both In-Hand and Under Saddle as well as compete in performance disciplines such  as dressage, show jumping, endurance, driving and eventing.

We feel that they should be capable of doing more than one discipline and therefore our breeding policy is to breed those with correct confirmation, true to type - fall within the breed description, have a good trainable nature and are nurtured correctly from birth.

The foundation mares and stallions have been chosen for their conformation, temperament and action.

ESKVALLEY STUD is the largest Welsh Pony of Cob Type and Welsh Cob Stud within the Lothians and has been established since 1999.
